Our cannabis franchise concept has raised eyebrows across North America in the two industries we hope to bring together. The worlds of cannabis and franchising are still largely unfamiliar with each other, and like any new relationship, it takes some getting used to. Cannabis is a fresh new player breaking into the institutional franchise structure, which results in various reactions from multi-unit operators. New concepts rarely emerge in the franchising world, but when they do, ears perk up.
At trade shows, our team is met with puzzled glances and eager questions, which is a direct result of doing something that’s never been done before. Depending on the show, ONE Cannabis (ONE) typically spends most of their time explaining one of the two worlds— cannabis or franchising— to the other. As it stands, ONE doesn’t really fit soundly into either industry, because there’s no space in which they coexist. So we decided to become that space.
A rare opportunity has arose for our team that couldn’t be any more perfect for us to teach others about cannabis and franchising. For the first time since the company has been attending trade shows, those two industries will be in the same building at the same time.
Delve into Both Worlds
In New York City from May 30 to June 1, ONE will be exhibiting at both the International Franchise Expo (IFE) and the CWCBExpo—both of which are taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
The IFE is billed as the best place to meet face-to-face with over 400 of the top franchise brands and learn about franchising, while the CWCBExpo sees themselves as, “the leading forum for dispensary owners, growers, suppliers and investors.” For anyone interested in a cannabis franchise, it’s the ideal opportunity to explore both worlds at once and meet the only relevant team that’s primed to engage with the two spaces. It’s the best opportunity for the company to show in real-time how we bridge cannabis and franchising with our unique combination of expertise and for franchisees to get a comprehensive understanding of what we can do to ensure they enter the cannabis industry prepared to succeed.
We encourage people of both worlds to visit with us, and take the opportunity to immerse themselves in a space they’re unfamiliar with. Our mission is to blend these spaces together and we do so by placing our partners in the best position to flourish. Much of that positioning comes from a working knowledge of both industries, which we help our franchisees understand. This rare opportunity to have both worlds under one roof doesn’t come often. If you live near New York City, or can take a quick trip there for these conferences, we highly recommend it.
